We are the Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside and our 501c(3) is the Riverside Uptown Kiwanis Charities. Our goals are to work together to achieve as much success as possible to help those in need in the Riverside area, especially children. With our contributing partners we are very effective and as the list below illustrates, Riverside continues to receive the benefits.

This is why we support the following:

Give financial support the Assistance League of Riverside. Awarded $10,000 to support their Snack Attack and School Bell programs which benefit local children in RUSD.
3rd grade dictionairies nov 2015Riverside Unified School District: The following are ongoing projects that we have supported for many years and benefit the students in RUSD with hopes that we will help facilitate their educational success.

Personally purchase and deliver 3,000+ dictionaries to all third grades in the district each year.

Have adopted four elementary schools (Highgrove, Mt. View, Magnolia, and Liberty) Support ongoing academic achievement projects with awards and recognition, and give other assistance, both hands on and financial where needed (judging science projects, tutoring, etc.) Magnolia Elementary received a new outdoor Bose Sound System which will typically be used for outdoor school rallies that promote student achievement, attendance and college readiness.

Scholarship Awards Woodcrest Christian, North, Ramona May 2016 AScholarships. Award scholarships to students graduating from North, Ramona, and Woodcrest Christian High Schools annually, based on need and achievements.

Thanksgiving Day Food Project. Package and deliver 160 food boxes (complete with large turkeys, bags of potatoes, stuffing, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, beans, pies, sugar, flour, butter) to sponsored elementary schools for families in need.

REEF (Riverside Educational Enrichment Foundation) A 501c(3) that was awarded $5,000 for teacher grants that provide enrichment opportunities for students in the areas of Visual and Performing Arts.

Boy Scout Troop 90: We mentor over 90 young men in this troop and financially assist camperships and other needs the troop has. We also assist the Mount Rubidoux District as Friends of Scouting.

Riverside University Health Systems – Festival of Trees: Purchase and donate two trees each year for local charities (example: RUHS Pediatric Unit, Operation Safehouse, Janet Goeske Center). All monies received go to healthcare for children in the Riverside County area.

Make-A-Wish Foundation: Donate $5,000 to grant this wish of a child with a life threatening medical condition each year.

Aktion Club is an official Uptown Kiwanis Sponsored Service Leadership program, originated by the Arc of Riverside that is oriented to adults with disabilities who are interested in providing service to their community.

Riverside Police Foundation: We awarded this non-profit organization, established by Chief Sergio G. Diaz, with $5000 to help provide programs and services to the youth of our City. Their vision is to take a leadership role in preventing crime, saving lives and improving the quality of life in our community through partnerships that enhance and strengthen the connection of children and the Riverside Police Department.
