 AUDITION APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022 RIVERSIDE’S GOT TALENT SHOW ARE NOW OPEN!!!

(A Benefit for Uptown Kiwanis Community Projects)

Contest Rules

    1. Previous winners are not eligible to enter. If you are a previous contestant, but did not place in a winning category, we welcome you to compete again.
    1. Acts are limited to 3 minutes.  If the performance requires accompaniment or background music, it must be provided by the performer. Performers may use live accompaniment or music saved on a USB flash drive or thumb drive, in either MP3 or .WAV file formats. If acoustic instruments are used, please provide your own sound equipment (amps, etc.). A microphone and a piano will be available.
    1. If you will be using a USB flash drive or thumb drive, you are required to bring two separate drives with you to the audition, identified with your name, and name of the song you will be performing. This is for the purpose of use, if and when, you are selected to be in the actual event on November 13, 2022. If you are not selected as a show contestant, arrangements can be made to pick up your USB or thumb drives from Patti Sprague. If you are selected to compete, your USB or thumb drives will be returned after the show. Riverside’s Got Talent is a family show, no profanity, offensive lyrics, or inappropriate jokes or dancing will be permitted. Please bring a written copy of the lyrics for the judges. Audition applications must be in by October 7, 2022.
    1. All ages are eligible, only one age category.
    1. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners as follows: 1st Place $1500,  2nd Place $1000, 3rd Place $750, 4th Place $500, 5th Place $300.  There will also be a special “Audience Favorite” of $500.
    1. Performers are invited to apply in all kinds of talent — instrumental musicians, vocalists, dancers, jugglers, comics, etc.  Uptown Kiwanis wants to provide an entertaining variety show that will be fun for performers and audience alike.
    1. Auditions will be held between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on several days during the week of October 10, 2022.  You will be assigned a specific day and time for your audition.  You will be notified by phone or email the week before the auditions.  There is a $20 application fee for each act. It may be paid online or in person the day of the audition, but must be paid prior to the actual audition.  One application fee for each act.
    1. Judges for the auditions will be a committee appointed by Uptown Kiwanis. The decision of the judges is final.
  1. Performances will be evaluated on: Musicality, Showmanship, Stage Presence, Visual Impact, Audience Appeal and Entertainment Value.

    • I understand that I am in no way required to participate in the above-named activity and that my participation is voluntary.

    • I understand that I must sign this release of liability if I would like to participate in the above-named activity.

    • I understand that Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside is permitted by law to require me to sign this release of liability before permitting me to participate in the above-named activity.

    I understand that by signing this document I am forever agreeing to indemnify and hold Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside and its members, and agents, harmless from any and all liability, loss or damage caused by or arising from their negligence, or those of others, including myself. I understand that I am agreeing to forever release from liability Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside and its officers, members and agents, and further agree to give up my right to sue them for any and all property damage, personal injury or wrongful death resulting from their negligence, my own negligence, or the negligence of others. My signature on this document will also prevent my heirs, assigns, representatives, legal guardians, or any person who may sue on my behalf, from suing as well. I understand that by participating in this activity, there are risks of physical injury to my person or property, as well as risks due to the negligent conduct of Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside and its members, myself, or others, involved with the above-named activity. By voluntarily participating in the above-named activity I understand the risks of injury to my person and property and am assuming the risk of such. Refunds will not be granted. Please be advised that all participants involved in the above-named activity are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by Kiwanis Club of Uptown Riverside without an obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.
